On July 23rd, Inside Outside hosted A. Kotchikian and E. Emcioglu- two participants from “Capturing the Mountain” dialogue. In the studio, the two speakers shared their thoughts on this Turkish-Armenian dialogue.
Asbed Kotchikian is from Lebanon, but has been living and working in the US for the past 15 years, currently he is a lecturer in Global Studies at Bentley University/Massachusetts. Erkut Emcioğlu is from Istanbul, a lawyer by training and currently both a lecturer at Okan University and the managing editor of the Turkish Policy Quarterly.
Asbed and Erkut looked back at the seven- day dialogue, reflecting on history, present day situation and future prospects sessions of both (mainstream societies).
There are plans for the second phase of this project- a hike to Mount Ararat with the same group in August 2013. In the meantime, a conference is scheduled for January 2013 as well as possible joint workshops and seminars.
